Abstract [en]

Rough setches are often considered the rough initial process before the birth of a complete work. The rough sketch can fully display the artist’s immediate thoughts, which is why it’s often seen as the purest vessel of the artist’s creativity.

In the field of fashion design, rough sketches have always been an essential tool that guides the designer throughout the entire project. Generally, fashion designers draw their initial ideas for a garment in sketches and then gradually refine their design thinking through different techniques. Fashion sketches can vary in detail—some designers prefer to draw intricate craftsmanship details and fabric textures ,which are often regarded as technical sketches, while others favor a rough style, where sketches may only contain a few color blocks and vague garment outlines.

This research aims to explore how the act of sketching impacts an artist's creativity, and to attempt to apply the sense of freedom felt during sketching to the process of fashion design. If sketching is an unprepared, purely instinctive artistic act that showcases the artist's creativity, what kind of outcome can we expect from an intuitive approach to fashion design?

This research delves into various methods of using rough sketches within fashion design, technically including knitwear design, draping, and crochet techniques. Regarded yarn as a tool for sketching, and trying to dive into the method of sketching and transferring it to design. Regarding the body as a canvas, draping spontaneous by following instinct, the final look is a body-sketching garment.

This fashion collection not only uses the combination of different materials to interpret the the complexity and freedom of sketching in design but also integrates craftmanship with modern design.
