Human meets machine : A Qualitative Study on Recruiters' Practical Experience with AI (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Artificial intelligence has, in recent years, taken on an increasingly significant role for companies and organizations. The technology is now primarily used to streamline and automate processes that previously required human involvement. AI’s integration into working life not only creates opportunities for businesses but also introduces new challenges and risks that organizations must address. The purpose of this study is to explore Swedish recruiters’ experiences of practically using AI in their professional role, based on two perspectives of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM): perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. In addition to the model, two other areas - challenges and the future -are presented in the study’s result in relation to AI usage. Much of the study suggests that AI is a valuable approach for streamlining routine tasks, but that there are certain risks associated with its use. These risks are primarily related to a lack of trust in the technology and the underlying human involvement in AI development. The results also indicate that AI has contributed to changes in the recruitment profession since its adoption became more widespread. There is a shared understanding among participants that human involvement will always be necessary in recruitment, but that the profession is evolving and may look different in the future.
