Unraveled in Time: Engineered digital print beneath the surface, investigates the possibilities in using engineered print design where motifs guide the draping and unraveling of the textile, changing the fluid transformative structure of the textile. Through draping a method was developed for creating grids for placement of the print motifs digital. The AI tool Adobe Firefly was used in the creation of the motifs. Sublimation printing was used to transfer the prints to textiles. A method for unraveling was developed, making it possible to do detailed unraveling around motifs. Resulting in unlocking the layer in between the two sides of a textile, opening for new possibilities to work with texture, transparency and layering within one engineered print design. The project resulted in 5 samples showcasing the possibilities in the developed methods grounding the digital engineered print design through unraveling, emphasizing areas of the print and chancing the fluid character of the draping.
