Consultants' work situation : A qualitative study on consultants' perceived job security (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to investigate job security among consultants with either permanent employment or temporary employment, employed by staffing agencies within the warehouse industry, focusing on three aspects of security: social, economic, and psychological security. The thesis employed a qualitative method with an deductive research approach. Empirical data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ten consultants employed by various staffing agencies but operating within the same industry, the warehouse sector. The conclusion of the study is that social, economic, and psychological security are interconnected and collectively influence the consultants' perception of job security. Strong social security reduces stress and increases motivation, while economic stability supports psychological security and work engagement. Together, these aspects contribute to the consultants' well-being and performance. Consultants in the warehouse industry perceive social security as crucial for feeling connected and supported in the workplace, which enhances their work motivation and satisfaction. Economic security is experienced differently depending on the type of employment and personal commitments, while psychological security is perceived variably by the consultants and can manifest as stress and anxiety, particularly related to workload.
