Sammanfattning Under många år har övergångssummorna inom fotbollen ökat markant, och hittills har vi inte sett någon vändning i den trenden. Detta gäller inte minst inom den svenska herrfotbollen där det under senaste åren varit flera uppmärksammade övergångar där de betalda summorna varit höga jämfört med tidigare. Undran till vad det egentligen är som påverkar övergångssummans storlek blir starkare för författarna och blir således grunden till denna studie. Syfte Syftet med studien är att få en djupare förståelse för vilka komponenter det är som påverkar den ekonomiska värderingen av en fotbollsspelare. Studien belyser komponenterna som ligger till grund för den transfersumma som slutligen accepteras av både den köpande och säljande parten. Förhoppningsvis kan studien medverka till ett ökat intresse för vad som påverkar värderingen av fotbollsspelare. Metod Denna studie följer en kvalitativ metod, där semistrukturerade intervjuer varit källan till den empirin som tillhandahållits. Urvalet har begränsats till personer vars yrke involverar spelarövergångar med koppling till Allsvenskan, den högsta fotbolldivisionen i Sverige. Empirin som insamlats har bearbetats med hjälp av en tematisk analys för att lyfta fram viktiga delar av intervjuerna. Analysen har sedan gjorts med utgångspunkt i den teoretiska referensram som presenteras i studien. Slutsats I slutet av studien når vi slutsatsen att vägen till en fastställd övergångssumma är väldigt komplex. Den består dels av spelarens egenskaper och hur denna information värderas av klubben, dels även på hur utbudet och efterfrågan på spelare ser ut. Inte minst beror det på hur den säljande och köpande klubben agerar under förhandlingarna. Det kan exempelvis handla om vilken taktik den köpande klubban använder sig av under en budgivning. 

Abstract Transfer fees in football have increased significantly over many years, and so far, we have not seen any reversal in that trend. This applies not least in Swedish men’s football, where in recent years there have been several high-profile transfers where the sums paid have been high compared to before. The wonder of what it is that actually affects how large the transfer fees become stronger for the authors and becomes the basis for this study Purpose The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of which components affect the economic value of a football player. The study illuminates the underlying components of the transfer fee that will be accepted of both the selling and buying part. Hopefully this study can contribute to a bigger interest in the components that affect the valuation of a football player. Method This study follows a qualitative method, where semi-structured interviews have been the source of the empirical evidence provided. The selection has been limited to people whose profession involves player transfers with connections to the Allsvenskan, the highest football division in Sweden. The empirical data collected has been processed using a thematic analysis to highlight important parts of the interviews. The analysis was then made based on the theoretical frame of reference presented in the study. Conclusion At the end of this study, we come to the conclusion that the path to an established transfer fee is very complex. It partly consists of the player's characteristics and how this information is valued by the club, it also depends on how the supply and demand for players looks. Not least it depends on how the selling and buying club act during the negotiations. It could for example be about which tactics the buying club uses during a bidding process.
