This study examines how easy-to-read (lättläst) fiction directed at adult newly arrived migrants constructs representations of social inclusion and belonging in Sweden. Drawing on a purposive selection of titles published by Vilja förlag, the study applies discourse theory (Laclau & Mouffe), postcolonial discourse analysis (Said, Hall), critical phenomenology (Ahmed), and feminist class analysis (Skeggs) as an analytical framework. The analysis shows that the texts consistently articulate work, Swedish language acquisition, and adaptation to social norms as the primary conditions for legitimate participation in Swedish society. These elements are woven together into a discourse where inclusion is only offered on the terms of the majority society, while alternative ways of living and belonging are rendered largely invisible. Drawing on Ahmed's concept of orientation, the texts are understood as normative maps that direct the imagined reader toward certain life trajectories. The study contributes to library and information science by arguing that the selection and mediation of easyto-read literature in libraries and educational settings is not a neutral practice, but one that reproduces particular notions of what newly arrived migrants need and who they are expected to become.

Denna studie undersöker hur lättläst skönlitteratur riktad till vuxna nyanlända migranter konstruerar representationer av social inkludering och tillhörighet i Sverige. Med utgångspunkt i ett målinriktat urval av titlar utgivna av Vilja förlag tillämpar studien diskursteori (Laclau & Mouffe), postkolonial diskursanalys (Said, Hall), kritisk fenomenologi (Ahmed) och feministisk klassanalys (Skeggs) som ett analytiskt ramverk. Analysen visar att texterna konsekvent artikulerar arbete, svenskinlärning och anpassning till sociala normer som de primära villkoren för legitimt deltagande i det svenska samhället. Dessa element vävs samman till en diskurs där inkludering endast erbjuds på majorssamhällets villkor, medan alternativa sätt att leva och tillhöra i stort sett osynliggörs. Baserat på Ahmeds orienteringsbegrepp förstås texterna som normativa kartor som styr den tänkta läsaren mot vissa livsbanor. Studien bidrar till biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap genom att argumentera för att urvalet och förmedlingen av lättläst litteratur i bibliotek och utbildningsmiljöer inte är en neutral praktik, utan en praktik som reproducerar specifika föreställningar om vad nyanlända migranter behöver och vem de förväntas bli.
