The library and Twitter : An analysis of the Stockholm city library´s twitter feed (English)
Abstract [en]

This is a paper that discusses the different information activities made on the Twitter webbsite by Stockholm city library. What type of information does the library focus on publishing and retweeting on Twitter? How is the tone of voice and the content in the dialogues between the library and their followers on the Twitter webbsite? The @ssbnu is examined by using a qualitative content analysis to categorise different information activites and find out wich information is given priority to. The paper aims to deepen the understanding for how the public library describes itself through the publications made on the Twitter webbsite in order to aid public libraries in developing their activities on social media. The paper show that by having an editor at the library actively working with Twitter there is a more wivid communication between followers and more often communication in the form of dialogue between the followers and the library. The content of the tweets and retweets are still traditional, focusing on reading fiction, the librarys own events and the library as a physical buildning.
