Library 2.0 – the highly theoretisized but less empirically explored user enhancing digital library service. A major amount of research tells us that librarians have difficulties with opening up the hiearchical relation that has been valid in the library for ages, and that they may feel a certain concern for the qaulity to be suffering when ”everybody can do what they want”. Other research states that librarians and users often have diff erent expectations of the library service and what the library is supposed to be and offer. The apostles of the 2.0 project argues that the users and the users of the future wants, needs and require fast communication and unlimited possibilities to influence the library service in aspect of their own preferences and interest, just because that's the way the modern world works. But is this self centered servicereally requerd or wanted? Statistic studies of users 2.0 behaviours show s that users in fact don't. This qualitative thesis makes the same result by asking six randomly chosen users in three different public libraries. The notions are at times contradictive, but presents a clearpicture of a quite indifferent attitude to libraries in social medias. The analysis is made with five central themes that has been crystallized from the litterature, of why Library 2.0 is valuable, and then matched with the informants answeres. The study in its whole is based on postmodernistic, individualistic and political theoretical framework that has been used to bring light to the whole user centerd discourse.
