Only 15% of people diagnosed with dyslexia use the library regularly – slightly more than half compared to the usage statistic of the Swedish population. This thesis aims to identify the reasons why people diagnosed with dyslexia seem to be reluctant in using the library. Eight dyslectic people from different walks of life participate in a group interview and results show that some of the participants are hesitant to using the library, while a few instead show great interest in the library and its services. The main reasons for reluctance to using the library seems to be the way dyslectic users experience they are received by the librarians, and the lack of technical aids in the library environment. Analysing the result we can identify a suggestion to what kind of identity the librarian should embrace when dealing with dyslexic users and also propose some changes to the tools, aids and support provided to dyslexic users.
