Studiens syfte var att utröna vilka effekter ett företag får av att implementera utvalda Lean strategier och förbättringsverktyg genom att kartlägga och analysera ett produktionsföretags nuläge. Detta företag som kollaborerar med i denna studie har infört och tillämpat Lean filosofin i sin verksamhet.

Studien grundade sig i en undersökning av ett medelstort produktionsföretag med hjälp av en kvalitativ undersökning. Läsaren har fått möjligheten att ta del av en intervju med företaget och som även kompletterats med en fallstudie. De intervjufrågor som ställdes till produktionsföretaget baserades på syftet och de olika frågeställningarna uppsatsen har.

Resultatet av studien visade att företagets lönsamhet ökade, ledtiden minskade och att hela flödet inom organisationen effektiviserades. Det skapades en ny struktur inom företaget där ständiga förbättringar skedde och nya tankesätt utvecklades. Den nya strukturen ökade även arbetstagarnas trivsamhet och arbetsmiljö. De anställda upplevde sig själva mer motiverade och engagerade och att deras arbetsinsatser gjorde skillnad.

Lean-filosofins strategier och förbättringsverktyg har blivit allt vanligare. Därför är det viktigt att upplysa om vilka effekter Lean kan få för ett produktionsföretag. Filosofin riktar sig inte till ett specifikt företag utan kan anammas av alla produktionsföretag som strävar efter verksamhetsutveckling.

The purpose of the study was to find out what effects a company gets from implementing selected Lean strategies and improvement tools by mapping and analyzing a production company's current situation. This company that collaborates with this study has introduced and applied the Lean philosophy in its operations.

The study was based on a survey of a medium-sized production company using a qualitative survey. The reader has had the opportunity to take part in an interview with the company, which has also been supplemented with a case study. The interview questions that were asked of the production company were based on the purpose and the different questions the essay has.

The results of the study showed that the company's profitability increased, the lead time decreased and that the entire flow within the organization was made more efficient. A new structure was created within the company where continuous improvements took place and new ways of thinking were developed. The new structure also increased employee well-being and the working environment. The employees felt themselves to be more motivated and engaged and that their work efforts made a difference.

Lean philosophy's strategies and improvement tools have become increasingly common. Therefore, it is important to inform about the effects Lean can have for a production company. The philosophy is not aimed at a specific company but can be adopted by all production companies that strive for business development.
