Övervikt har blivit ett globalt problem och allt fler barn drabbas i Sverige. Konsekvenserna av övervikt är många och skolsköterskor har en viktig roll i det hälsofrämjande arbetet med övervikt. Det finns ett behov av att skapa sig en kunskapsöversikt kring hur skolsköterskor erfar sitt hälsofrämjande arbete. Syftet var att beskriva skolsköterskans erfarenhet av hälsofrämjande arbete till barn som lever med övervikt. En kvalitativ systematisk litteraturöversikt utfördes med induktiv design. Sökning gjordes i följande databaser: CINAHL, PubMed, och Psycinfo. Det resulterade i 12 artiklar som kvalitetsgranskades och analyserades. Resultatet består av tre huvudkategorier, Hälsofrämjande arbete för barnets bästa som visade på olika metoder skolsköterskan använder sig av samt vikten av samarbete och samtal med barnet och föräldrarna. Övervikt, en känslosam fråga som kräver följsamhet visade på att övervikt är ett känsligt ämne och skolsköterskan behöver möta familjens levda erfarenheter. Sista huvudkategorin Strukturer som hindrar hälsofrämjande möten visade på hur tidsbrist kan hindra skolsköterskan från hälsofrämjande arbete och att det finns ett behov av kunskap och rutiner. Slutsatsen är att arbeta hälsofrämjande med barn som lever med övervikt behöver skolsköterskan ta del av familjens leva erfarenheter och få bättre förutsättningar. Samarbete med familjen var grundläggande för skolsköterskans arbete och av stor vikt för barnens möjlighet till hållbara förändringar. Att arbeta hälsofrämjande skulle kunna bidra till en mer hälsosam befolkning i framtiden och minska på lindande för barnet och familjen samt sänka de ekonomiska kostnaderna i samhället som övervikt bidrar med.

Obesity has become a global problem and the number of children overweight is increasing in Sweden. The consequences of being overweight are many and school nurses have an important role in the health promotion work with children living with overweight. There is a need to create an overview of how school nurses experience their health promotion work. The aim of the study was to describe school nurses’ experiences of health promotion work to children living with overweight. A qualitative systematic literature review with inductive design was conducted. Searches are made in the following databases: CINAHL, PubMed and PsycInfo. This resulted in 12 articles that were quality reviewed and analyzed. The result consists of three main categories, Health promotion work for the best interest of the child which showed the different methods the school nurse uses, the importance of cooperation and conversation with the child and parents. Obesity, an emotional issue that requires compliance showed that obesity is a sensitive subject, the school nurse needs to face the family’s lived experiences. Last main category, Structures that prevent health promoting meetings, showed lack of time can prevent the school nurse from health promoting work and there is a need for knowledge and routines.The conclusion is that to work to promote health with children living with overweight, the school nurse need to take part in the family’s lived experiences in order to have better conditions. Cooperation with the family was fundamental to the school nurses’ work and of great importance to the children’s opportunity for sustainable changes. Working to promote health could contribute to a healthier population in the future, reduce suffering and financial costs for society that overweight contributes with.
