The importance of language for positive user experiences : an investigation of the relationship between language tone, readability, and usability quality in e-services (English)
Abstract [en]

In future hyper contextual environments, information architecture will play a crucial role in organizing and making information accessible in a meaningful way for users to interact with multiple devices and information sources simultaneously. Using flow theory as a framework, this paper examines the relationship between usability and positive user experience from the perspective of an information architect, based on language tone, readability, information quality, and interaction quality. The study analyzes the usability quality, information quality, and interaction quality of three e-services (Kivra, 1177, and Swish) and discusses how future information architecture can be designed to be user-friendly, uncomplicated, and deliver a positive experience that is pleasant and easy to use. The research is based on a blend of quantitative and qualitative data from user surveys, interviews with users, and experts in the field of information architecture. The paper concludes with a discussion on the importance of language tone and design in developing ethical, human-centered digital solutions for the future.
