The thesis explores the ways in which volunteers at Community Managed Libraries (CMLs) in England, U.K. gain and share the knowledge they need in order to deliver digital services. An interview study was carried out and semi-structured interviews carried out with CML volunteers in order to gather and thematically analyse qualitative data on volunteers’ Knowledge Sharing activities. The study finds that effective Knowledge Sharing as regards digital services may be linked to user involvement in and engagement with such services and their community as a whole.
