This thesis is an examination of a FAQ's usefulness on an e-commerce assortment pages with focus on structure, content and design. The purpose of the study is to investigate if FAQ can increase the usability of an e-commerce assortment pages. The background to this is a noted knowledge gap for what should be considered when designing FAQ:s in order to increase usability, but also how they can be adapted specifically for an e-commerce assortment page. Based on relevant design principles and different theories with a focus on definitions of usability, we found a suitable approach for conducting our study. With a foundation in usability and the factors structure, content and design, data were collected through user tests (think-aloud-method) and a heuristic evaluation of the FAQ. These two methods were chosen because they complement each other and provide knowledge about what e-commerce can affect (structure, content, design) but also what e-commerce can indirectly affect (user experience). The study shows that a FAQ can increase the usability and the result gives indications for which factors that seems to affect usability while creating FAQ on e-commerce assortment pages.
