The study aims to investigate how IT-systems are perceived in the public sector in Borås. The purpose of the study is to investigate how the IT-systems are perceived among the users in the public sector by describing and highlighting the users' experiences and their opinions about the IT systems they interact daily with in their work. A qualitative data collection and an examination of previous theory have been made. The qualitative survey has included interviews with local authorities and administrations. Theory and data derived from the interviews have been transcribed and then analyzed and opposed. From the analysis of the collected data, a number of themes have been identified: systems, usability, education, governmental system development, system structure and IT utility within the government. Discussion is then based on these themes. The result can benefit all kinds of governmental agencies and can be used as a foundation during future system development and other system improvements.
