The digital internal communication in Swedish organizations (English)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to investigate how problems with digital communication channels have affected the internal communication among employees within Swedish organizations. In addition to this, the study also aims to gain a deeper understanding of why the problems occur. The study is based on previous research that highlights several problems with the usage of the digital communications channels. Data was gathered with a qualitative method that included semi structured interviews and questionnaires. This was investigated by using the Rational choice model, the Scandinavian institutional theory, and the ecological communication model. The study showed that issues with digital communication channels occur mostly in inadequate relationships, miscommunication, usage of the channel and a large number of channels with the same function. Furthermore, the underlying factors of these problems are lack of information, insufficient knowledge as well as demands from the surroundings.

Abstract [sv]

Studiens syfte avser att undersöka hur eventuella problem med de digitala kommunikationskanalerna påverkat den interna kommunikationen bland anställda inom svenska organisationer. Vidare syftar studien på att få en djupare förståelse om varför problemen uppstår bland de anställda. Studien har utförts med grund från tidigare forskning som har indikerat att det finns problem med de digitala kommunikationskanalerna utan någon förståelse kring varför problem uppstår. Datan samlades in med en kvalitativ metod, som inkluderade semistrukturerade intervjuer samt frågeformulär. Datan analyserades med hjälp av Rational choicemodellen, Skandinaviska institutionella teorin och den Ekologiska kommunikationsmodellen. Undersökningen visade att de problem som förekommer i dagsläget med de digitala kommunikationskanalerna är: sämre relationer, användningen, misskommunikation samt för stort antal av kanaler med samma funktion. Vidare visar studien att de bakomliggande faktorerna till dessa problem är brist på information, otillräcklig kunskap samt krav från omgivningen.
