Den globala handeln är något som ständigt har utvecklats på grund av tillgång och efterfrågan. Istället för att verksamheter skall fokusera på alla produkter som tillverkas, riktar företagen sig mot dess centrum. Detta innebär att sidoprodukter oftast outsourcas till andra företag. Företag delar upp produkter för att rikta sig mot de som är mest lönsamma för att skapa mervärde. Produkterna kategoriseras i A, B eller C-produkter beroende på vilket värde de medför till företaget. Detta utförs för att kunna vara konkurrenskraftiga i marknaden. Trots motivet till användningen av denna metod kan outsourcing medföra konsekvenser för ett företag.  Arbetet undersöker vilka utmaningar som finns med offshore outsourcing och hur företag  ska minimera riskerna som förekommer. Genom att utföra en kvalitativ intervju med ett företag om deras leverantör i Rumänien gör att slutsatsen kommer var begränsad. Detta företag representerar inte alla andra verksamheter som befinner sig i samma situation. För att få en större förståelse används vetenskapliga artiklar och annan litteratur som stödjer denna forskning. Sammanfattningsvis förtydligar rapporten att beslutet för outsourcing skall baseras på mer än bara skillnader av produktkostnader. Det är vanligt bland verksamheter då de skickar sina processer eller produkter till lågkostnadsländer för minskad kostnad. På grund av att försörjningskedjan är komplex kan går det att minimera och hantera riskerna med outsourcing genom att tillämpa ett strukturerat kontrakt. Global trading is something that has constantly evolved due to supply and demand. As a result, the development of global trade increased cost focus. Instead of focusing on all products that are manufactured, the company focuses on it’s core aspects. This means that side products are usually outsourced to other companies. Companies divide customers and products to target those who are most profitable to create added value. These are categorized in A, B or C products depending on the value they bring to the company. This is done in order to be competitive in the market. Despite the motivation for the use of this method, there may be consequences that outsourcing may lead to a company. The report aims to find out what challenges are with offshore outsourcing? and how companies minimize the risks that occur. By conducting a qualitative interview with a company about their supplier in Romania, the conclusion will be limited. This company does not represent all of the companies that are in the same situation. To get a wider picture, scientific articles and other literature are used to support this research. In summary, the report clarifies that the decision to outsource is based on more than just differences in product costs. It is common for businesses to send their processes or products to low cost countries for a reduced cost. Due to the complexity of the supply chain, using a structured contract can minimize and manage the risks of outsourcing. There it will clearly state what is demanded in quantity, quality and delivery. There must be clear and strict requirements that the company and the supplier agree with in order for the end customer to be satisfied.
