The purpose of this Master’s thesis is to examine student secondary teachers’ perceptions of the role of the school library libraries as well as compare results with an earlier study. The following questions were posed: 1. How do student teachers view the school library? 2. How do student teachers view the role of the school library in school and for school work? 3. How do student teachers expect to use the library in education? Data was collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and analysed using Loertscher’s eight level taxonomy of school libraries. The results of the analysis of the empirical data show that student teacher’s perceptions of library and information seeking are almost identical to views held by the student teachers in Böwes study conducted 15 years ago.
