Abstract [sv]

Utomhuspedagogik är ett förhållningssätt där lärande sker utomhus i verkliga miljöer. Denna kunskapsöversikt ger en överblick över aktuell forskning som behandlar utomhuspedagogik med inriktning mot de naturorienterande ämnena. Syftet med kunskapsöversikten är att undersöka vilken inverkan utomhuspedagogik har på elevernas lärande i de naturorienterande ämnena. Som metod i undersökningen har vi läst, analyserat och sammanställt åtta vetenskapliga artiklar inom området. Resultaten av denna studie visar att utomhuspedagogik överlag har en positiv inverkan på elevernas lärande. Utomhusundervisning kompletterar klassrumsundervisning och ger eleverna möjlighet att lära sig autentiskt, vilket hjälper de att befästa ämnesspecifika begrepp och se samband. De svårigheter och hinder som lärare upplever med utomhusundervisning är bland annat tidsbrist, stora elevgrupper och bristande kunskap om varför, när och hur utomhusutbildning ska genomföras.

Abstract [en]

Outdoor education is an approach where learning is done outdoors in real environments. In this knowledge overview, there is a review of current research that addresses outdoor education with focus on the nature-oriented subjects. The purpose of the survey is to investigate the impact of outdoor education on pupils' learning in nature-oriented subjects. As a method in the survey, we have read, analyzed and compiled eight scientific articles in the field. The results of this study show that outdoor education in general has a positive impact on pupils' learning. Outdoor teaching complements classroom teaching and gives students the opportunity to learn authentically, which further helps them to consolidate subject-specific concepts and see relationships. The difficulties and obstacles faced by outdoor education are time shortages, large student groups and lack of knowledge about why, when and how outdoor education is going to happen.
