This bachelor thesis is a study of the different terms and identities of Swedish hospital libraries. Through qualitative content analysis of regional library plans, and with help from Anders Øroms theory of librarian identities but here applied onto the libraries in themselves, we discern the different identities of the many Swedish hospital and medical libraries. We also search the same library plans for the many different terms used to describe hospital libraries. Our findings show, with support from previous studies, a reclining focus on litterature and a stronger leaning towards the professionals working within hospitals and medical science. The sum of all the terms for hospital libraries we discover reflects this to some extent.
