How students perceive the usability when navigating through a bookshop's website (English)
Abstract [en]

A large part of Sweden's population do their shopping online today. Researchers show us that there is a clear link between usability and how successful a necommerce website is. It is very important for a necommerce website to have good usability. Having a bad usability on a website can lead to a loss of potential customers. This study aims to find out how the usability is perceived by students when navigating through a category and product page on Borås studentbokhandels website. It also aims to describe how they navigate through the above mentioned pages. It is a qualitative case study. Through semistructured interviews, have five students studying at the University of Borås been interviewed and are presentative at Borås Studentbokhandel AB. The five above mentioned students have also taken part in doing usability tests. The study found out that the students perceive the usability of the website as both good and bad. The website is effective in that all the students could achieve their goals. The website can make it easier by implementing a sorting tool. All the students could tell on what page of the website they were currently on. Navigating using the website's search function proved to be somewhat effective. Navigation using the navigation menu proved to be useful to the websites target group. It was hard to navigate through the navigation menu for other people.
